Acclaimed Director and Executive Producer, James Hanlon is best known for his iconic documentary series & first hand account of the September 11th attacks. James’ work on the Doc Series is now nearing its second decade, from CBS to CNN. James is the Executive Producer, Director, and Cinematographer. The 9/11 series has garnered James the Emmy Award, the George Foster Peabody Award, and the Edward R Murrow Award to name a few. James grew up in New York City and as a teenager studied at the NYC Acting Studio. James is a Lifetime Member of the NYC Acting Studio. He has performed in over 20 plays in NYC and honed his craft performing before taking a left turn after a conversation with Steve Buscemi. This conversation lead to James joining the NYC Fire Department. James started his award winning documentary while he was a FDNY firefighter. James retired a decorated FDNY veteran and till this day introduces himself as a NYC Firefighter. He is a graduate of UCLA in the 2 year Directing program. James is also is a dedicated, loving, & proud father. A family man, residing in the Los Angeles area.
